I&P in brief
Investisseur et Partenaire pour le Développement (I&P) is a private finance company established in 2002. Its approach draws on the experience of private equity. I&P invests in long-term partnership with entrepreneurs in developping countries. Its activities are focused on two sectors :
Microfinance institutions
Microfinance institutions offer a range of financial services (such as microcredi and saving products) to people excluded from the conventional baking system. They finance traditional activities in rural areas, and informal activities in the towns. They have substantial funding needs, and typically adopt classic business structures.
Medium-sized African enterprises
Africa is short of a medium-sized enterprises operating in the formal economy. Strenghtening this sector is essential for economic and social development. Many talented African entrepreneurs lack access to banking finance. Their financing requirements go beyond the scope of microcredit, and they often regognize the need of strategic and management counseling.
I&P invests in these two sectors as an equity stakeholder and as a lender, prviding hands on, full-of-time, counseling and mentoring.
It's philosophy stems from, and combines a humanist perspective
and an absolute commitment to economic viability.
